Jan Linwood Lackey Hoyle
October 16, 1954 — October 23, 2025
LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Jan Linwood Lackey Hoyle, age 71, of Lincolnton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating. Those who wish may greet the family following the service.
Mrs. Hoyle was born on October 16, 1954, in Lincoln County, to the late Guy Linwood Lackey and Ruby Beal Lackey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hoyle.
She is survived by her children, Traci Dellinger and husband Mike of Lincolnton, Shelli Jenkins and husband Scott of Lincolnton, and Shane Bumgarner and wife Amy of Caswell Beach; one sister, Libby Beard of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren, Austin Dellinger, Noah Jenkins, and Cortney Jenkins. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Alice Jean Hoyle, and sister-in-law, Tami Hoyle.
Jan retired from BellSouth at the young age of 48 after many years of dedicated service. Known for her incredible work ethic and sharp wit, she was the kind of woman who set the standard without ever knowing she was doing it.
She loved as hard as she worked. Passionate, driven, and full of life, Jan was a true workhorse and jokester who could light up a room with her humor, quick wit, and infectious laugh. She found joy in the simple things — a day at the beach, a new adventure, or time spent with those she loved most.
Jan was the backbone of her family — steadfast, selfless, and strong. Her love and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she cherished most.
