David William Smith
July 20, 1938 - March 12, 2023

IRON STATION, N.C. - David William Smith, age 84, of Iron Station went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning March 12, 2023.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Scronce, Rev. Larry Blakley and Rev. Wayne Brittain officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born on July 20, 1938 and was the son of the late Kiser David and Bonnie Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beattie Scism Smith and his son, Kenneth William Smith. He was retired from Carolina Mills with over 25 years of service and was also a veteran of the Air National Guard having served for 8 years.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Bobbie Jane Morrison (Ronnie Elmore) of Lincolnton; his brother, Fred Junior Smith of Lincolnton; three sisters, Sadie Sue Stamey of Vale, Judy Joann Scronce (Daniel) of Vale and Barbara Ingle (Billy) of Vale; three grandchildren, Nathan Morrison (Rachel), Shawn Morrison and Joshua Beal; and one great-grandson, Ayson Lee Morrison.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Western Carolinas – Charlotte Chapter, 4600 Park Road, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28209-0201.

Warlick Funeral Home of Lincolnton, N.C. is serving the Smith family.
