LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Linda Gale Barrows, 79, of Lincolnton died Friday, March 10, 2023 at her residence.
Born April 7, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Evely Leathlean. Linda was married to Robert Barrows in Titusville, Florida and they traveled the world together in 21 years of service in the United Stated Air Force. She loved to play the piano, sewing, gardening and was a mighty prayer warrior. She served in churches everywhere they lived teaching Bible School, Sunday School and mission work. She also taught the English to the Japanese and African people. June 1981, she graduated as an LPN and worked as a nurse for 35 years until she retired to care for her husband.
Three daughters, Penny Ervin (Jason), Delinda McNeill and Jamie Barrows; her son, Jeffrey (Jill) Barrows; three sisters, Esther Godwin (Frank), Rita and Bob Offi and Isla Diggs, her brother, Eddie (Gwen) Leathlean; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren and one on the way survive her.
In addition to her parents, her spouse of 51 years, Robert J Barrows; her brother, Walter Leathlean preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Covenant Church with pastor Mike Devine officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
