Flint "Buster" Morris Calaway
May 22, 1935 - March 17, 2023

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Flint “Buster” Morris Calaway, age 87, of Lincolnton passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at Trinity Ridge of Mountain View in Hickory.

Born May 22, 1935 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Joe Roscoe and Margaret Rhyne Calaway. Buster was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Lincolnton.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Emma Jean McCalister Calaway and a son, Steve Calaway preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Sherry Ballard and husband, Roger of Lincolnton; daughter-in-law Debbie Calaway of Lincolnton; two grandsons Trey Calaway and wife Lauren of Vale, Spencer Ballard and wife Andrea of Lincolnton; granddaughter Hollie Nelson and husband Chris of Hickory; five great-grandchildren McKayla Reid, Kennedi Reid, Della Mae Calaway, Ridge Walker Calaway, and Quinn Ballard.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 19 at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Pastor Jack Calloway and Pastor Ernie Richards officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-2:45 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, Lincolnton, NC.
