CONOVER, N.C. - Jose Abel Chavez Flores, 62, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
He was born April 1, 1960 in Michoacan, Mexico to the late German Chavez Castro and Dominga Flores Vallejo. Abel was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory and was employed in the construction industry.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years Juventina Magana of the home; daughter Victoria Chavez of Conover; brother Silviano Chavez Flores of Kernersville; sisters Maria Viola Chavez Flores of Mexico, Maria R. Chavez Flores of Statesville.
A service to celebrate Abel’s life will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 4 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory. Deacon Francisco Pina will officiate. Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton.
