The Lincolnton Business & ProfessionalWomen's Club has sponsored the Lincoln County Apple Queen Pageant for decades. Now they've decided to hold a pageant for older contestants. The Granny Smith Pageant will be held in June, giving women 55 and older a chance to compete in three areas: On-stage question, Decade wear, and Sunday best! The judges will select the winner based on criteria including: energy, crowd participation, and presentation. The winner of the Miss Lincoln County Granny Smith Pageant will win $500 for the charity of her choice; second place will receive a $300 donation to the first runner-up's chosen charity; and third place will receive a $100 donationto her chosen charity. The BPW is now accepting applications from contestants and seeking sponsors to raise funds for the BPW's Working Women Scholarship Fund.

The Granny Smith pageant is open to any Lincoln County woman 55 or older. It will be held at the Cultural Center on June 24th.

The Apple Queen Pageant will be held the first Saturday in August.
