VALE, N.C. - Vergie Mae Wise Hoyle, 88, of Peeler Road, Vale, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at her residence.
Born in Lincoln County, on October 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lester Jacob Daniel Wise and Lillie Mae Young Wise. Mrs. Hoyle was retired from Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hal Hoyle; two brothers, Odell Wise and Ralph Wise; and a sister, Edith Cook.
Survivors include a son, Alan Hoyle of Lincolnton; three daughters, Kathie Canipe and husband Derrick of Vale, Tammy Leatherman and husband Dan of Vale and Robin Lineberger of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother, Clarence Wise of Hickory; sister, Ellen Kiser of Stanley; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Wise, Sue Miller and Fay Downs all of Vale; 12 grandchildren, Robert Canipe, Kelly Shew, Brianna Hoyle, Joanna Hoyle, Savanna Hoyle, Hanna Hoyle, Issac Hoyle, Juliana Hoyle, Nicholas Goodson, Johnathan Hubbard, Jacob Leatherman and Kristine Anthony; six great-grandchildren, Jaden Canipe, Lana-Faith Shew, Kenzley Shew, Jaylee Shew, John Duke Hubbard and Addy Grace Hubbard.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeremy Mahaffey and David Webb officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
