Asbury UMC Outdoor Movie Night, Sunday, June 11: FREE Outdoor Movie under the stars on Sunday, June 11. The movie Jesus Revolution will be shown beginning at sunset (approx. 8:30 p.m.). Community Blood Drive , Thursday, June 8: Abernethy Laurels retirement community and EveryAge, its parent company, are hosting a blood drive on Thursday, June 8, from 12 noon till 4:30 pm. The drive will take place in Spirit Place auditorium at 102 Leonard Avenue, Newton, NC. All are welcome to donate. To schedule an appointment online, visit www.redcrossblood.org/ and search using the zip code 28658. Each donor will receive a complimentary health screening prior to collection and to ensure eligibility. Remember, certain medications like blood thinners can prevent you from donating. If you have questions prior to your appointment, please call 866.236.3276 for more details. To minimize time at the collection center, donors can complete their pre-donation information and health history questionnaire the morning of their appointment. Simply use a smartphone or computer to visit www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass. As added incentive, donors who give in June can receive a $10 gift card by email to a merchant of their choice. In addition, donors will automatically be entered for a chance to win a backyard theater package, including a laser wireless projector and screen, projector tripod, smokeless firepit, Adirondack chair set with four chairs and two tables, and a movie night snack package.

Marvin UMC Fundraiser/Community Yard Sale, Saturday, June 10: Marvin United Methodist Church, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092 will have a community yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. Spaces available for $10.00. Please contact Jerry Uhryk at 704-308-4018 to reserve a space. There will be ham and sausage biscuits, coffee, hot dogs, and baked goods for sale. Proceeds will go towards restoring “The Grove”, the former community building.

Crouse Baptist VBS, June 4-7: All ages welcome for Twists and Turns Vacation Bible School at Crouse Baptist Church, 2761 Saint Marks Church Road, Crouse, NC 28033. Music, games, crafts, food and Bible Study. Please join us and invite others! June 4-6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., June 7 at 6 p.m. for commencement followed by hot dogs.
