LINCOLNTON––It’s going to be big.

It’s a good, old-fashioned, traditional camp meeting, coming up Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 6-7:30 p.m. nightly, at the Kids Dome at 1979 NC-27 West.

That’s the word this week from church spokeswoman Haley Wilson and its pastor, Rev. Rick Hensley. As they told The Herald, the camp meeting––intended to become an annual event––will feature guest speakers, including revs. Danny McCurry and Johnny Boggs, respectively Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Hensley himself is scheduled to kick things off on Sept. 29.

Wilson continued that gospel music is scheduled for each night, starting at 6 p.m. And there’s food, too. Meeting attendees will enjoy grilled hot dogs, chips and drinks. Serving starts at 5 p.m. Donations are welcome.

Hensley also cited the music. He said Mercy on Us will perform on the 29th. The McCurry Family will perform on the 30th, followed by Kelly Black on Oct. 1

Hensley added that a big crowd is expected.

“Folks are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs in the event our tent fills up,” he said. “Bring your entire family and enjoy some good music, followed by God’s Word. We really need Jesus, now more than ever. Hope to see you each night!”
