LINCOLNTON––The emergency services wing of Christian Ministry is in need of multiple items.
That’s the word Thursday from executive director Mitzi Williams. As Williams informed, emergency services is asking for:
*women’s sneakers in any size;
*men’s pants and jeans in waist sizes 30 and 32;
*men’s shoes in sizes nine and nine and a half;
*shampoo and conditioner;
*and body wash and body lotion.
Relatedly, volunteer help is needed in the clothing closet.
In other news, many food items are currently needed. Williams said these include small bags of rice; crackers; such breakfast foods as cereal, grits and oatmeal; macaroni and cheese; and pop-top canned food items, which are easy for the ministry’s homeless clients to use.
Talking of food, the ministry’s soup kitchen needs volunteer coverage on Nov. 23, 24 and 25. The ministry will be closed Nov. 23 and 24 in observance of Thanksgiving. The kitchen also needs covering on Dec. 9, 23, 25, 26, 27 and 30. The ministry will be closed Dec. 25-27 in observance of Christmas, as well as Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
