HICKORY, N.C. - Jerry Donald Hefner, 76, of Hickory, passed away on September 16, 2023 at his residence.

He was born December 19, 1946 in Catawba County to the late Donald and Willa Shook Hefner. Jerry was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory and retired as a machinist in the furniture industry. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working with wood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cloyde Lee Hefner.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years Thelma Schronce Hefner of the home; sons Anthony Scott Hefner of Hickory, Allen Hefner and wife Lisa of Hiddenite; brother Randy Hefner and wife Rose of Mountain View; grandchildren Justin Hefner (Pamela) and Brady Hefner.

A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Hickory. Rev. Mark Seamon will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
