SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - Roger Dale Hefner, 65, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at his residence.

He was born January 16, 1958 in Catawba County to the late Therman and Ruth Spann Hefner. Roger was a member of Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church in Sherrills Ford and was employed with Marshall Steam Station as a chemistry technician for 25 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen Hefner, Howard Hefner, George Hefner, and Gary Hefner; and sister, Dorothy Hefner Leatherman.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years Jackie Harwell Hefner of the home; son Jeremy Hefner and wife Melissa of Sherrills Ford; daughter Heather Misenheimer and husband Danny of Salisbury; sister Tessie Spaulding and husband Calvin of Claremont; father-in-law Richard Harwell of Sherrills Ford; mother-in-law Ikie Woodruff of Newton; grandchildren Hannah, Maggie, Gabriel, Sarah, and Connor.

A service to celebrate Roger’s life was held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church in Sherrills Ford. Rev. Russ Reighley officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Church.
