Traffic Enforcement Highlighted Week Five Of Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy
LINCOLNTON N.C. - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy participants learned about traffic stops and traffic enforcement, during their fifth week of this program. Detective D. Houser discussed law enforcement considerations during traffic stops and gave an overview of traffic crimes and citations.
Citizen’s Academy participants observed mock traffic stops and also learned about safety precautions used by law enforcement, during traffic stops. These precautions are utilized to ensure the safety of the public and of the law enforcement officers. Detective D. Houser also discussed considerations taken when a vehicle is being searched by law enforcement officers. This included discussions about consent or when law enforcement would have legal justification to enter and conduct a search of a vehicle.
