Two Felony Arrests After Brief Stand-Off With Deputies In Lincoln County
LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Two people were arrested on felony warrants Thursday (September 21, 2023) after a brief standoff with Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies.
Deputies responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Sail Pointe Lane, Denver, NC to serve an outstanding felony warrant on Alex McCall Allran, 35, of Sail Pointe Lane. After arriving on the scene deputies learned Ms. Allran was in the residence because of her vehicle being in the driveway and movement inside the residence. Officers had made four previous attempts to serve the warrants during the last six weeks.
Allran sent a text to a neighbor who was walking nearby telling her that she (Allran) and her boyfriend, Jason Howard Cockman, 36, of Archdale, NC were inside the residence but were not coming out.
LCSO Sgt. Gomez continued to talk to the suspect but after no results, he instructed a deputy to secure a search warrant to make entry into the residence to arrest both individuals who had outstanding warrants.
Sgt. Gomez began texting Cockman and before the search warrant could be drawn, the pair gave themselves up to officers without incident. Investigating officers were Sgt. Gomez, Patrol Deputy Hargrave and Patrol Deputy Diberardino.
Allran is charged with felony larceny after breaking and entering. She was taken before a magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center where she was processed and released under a $3,000 secured bond.
Cockman was wanted on a number of warrants from Randolph County including possession of methamphetamine, two counts of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon, resist a public officer, misuse of 911, harassing phone calls, two counts of violation of a domestic protective order and several other charges. He is being held in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a no bond hold for Randolph County.
