MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Betty Sue Cornwell Schrum, age 93, of Blossom Ridge Drive in Mooresville, and formerly of Lincolnton, died on Friday, September 22, 2023.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Betty was born August 29, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Lewis and Carrie Hewitt Cornwell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Garmon Gaither Schrum; five brothers; and three sisters.  She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Winn-Dixie.

She is survived by a son, Gary Schrum (Donna) of Sherrills Ford; two granddaughters, Amanda Eller (Shawn) of Mooresville, and Brittany Schrum of Sherrills Ford; and two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Eller and Graceleigh Eller.
