Blood Donation, Wednesday, July 10: A Blood Drive will be held at First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092 from 2-6 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Appointments can be scheduled at redcross-blood.org. Walk-ins are welcome.  

Sunrise Resource Fair, Thursday, July 11: Don’t miss the Sunrise Resource Fair on Thursday, July 11 at 5 p.m. at 118 Deaton Ave., Lincolnton, NC 28092 in the Resource Center. Booths on employment, health, wellness, education, and much more. Fun games for the kids. Food and Icee’s for the family.

Ironhorse Rebels Biker Games, Saturday, July 13: The 2nd annual Ironhorse Rebels Biker Games will be held on Saturday, July 13 beginning at 11 a.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The address for the games is 482 North Brook School Road, Vale, NC.

Senior Fest – Celebration Of Older Americans Month, Friday, July 19: The Lincoln County Department of Socials Services will host Senior Fest at the DSS facility on Friday, July 19 from 1-4 p.m. Vendors will be available to share information with our older citizens in honor of Older Americans Month and help in preventing worldwide elder abuse.  Want to help? The DSS is relying on donations of time and materials to help make this event a success. DSS is located at 1136 E. Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092 or call 704-732-0738 to learn more.

Breakfast With Bishop W.C. Martin, #IsThereOne, Saturday, July 20: Join the fight to end the foster care crisis! There are over 700 churches in Gaston County and over 400 children in DHHS-Social Services’ custody. With your partnership we will have everything we need to end this crisis! Join the #IsThereOne movement to see how you can become an advocate for the most vulnerable children and families. Gaston County DHHS-Social Services and the Guardian ad Litem’s Office cordially invites you to join us for breakfast and conversations with Bishop W.C. Martin of Bennett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church to learn how his congregation ended the foster care crisis in Possum Trot, Texas. The event on Saturday, July 20 at 9 a.m. at Legacy Event Center, 207 S. Chestnut St. in Gastonia is free to the public but registration is required. Love Denver, Saturday, August 3: Join us for a day of community, care, prayer and compassion at this completely free back-to-school event sponsored by local churches on Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at East Lincoln High School, 6471 NC-73, Denver, NC 28037. Free backpacks filled with school supplies, free kids’ haircuts, free lunch, sports physicals, medical screenings, prayer and faith resources, fun and games, and so much more.
