Burn Ban Lifted

but D3 drought classification expanded to include Lincoln County

The burn ban issued by the North Carolina Forest Service to help prevent wildfires has been lifted for 30 western North Carolina counties including Lincoln, Catawba, Gaston & Cleveland; but voluntary water conservation is still urged.

A week ago, just after midnight Friday morning (Nov. 3rd), a Lincolnton icon breathed his last breath in this world and slipped silently into the next. David Lowe was a Lincolnton icon. For years, he served as City Clerk and City Manager, and his efforts helped to make our city what it is today.

Happy Halloween!

It began as an alternative to taditional trick-or-treating made necessary by the COVID pandemic. To avoid spreading the virus, the Lincolnton Recreation Dept. and others created a Halloween Drive-Thru Trick or Treat Event; and it has now become a local tradition.
