Additional Sexual Assault Charges Filed On A Mount Holly Man
Sexual assault allegations against Mr. Fletcher involving an adult
LINCOLNTON, N.C. – On May 15, 2024 the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit began an investigation into sexual assault allegations against Maxwell Sidney Fletcher, 30, of Mount Holly, NC.
Mr. Fletcher was a soccer coach at East Lincoln High School, a teacher at WC Friday school in Gaston County, and was a coach for the Dry Pond travel baseball league out of Denver, NC.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Major Crime Unit led the investigation which resulted in Mr. Fletcher being charged in Lincoln County, in Catawba County by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, and in Horry County, SC by the Horry County Police Department.
As a result of the investigation, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Major Crime Unit identified another victim in Lincoln County and began investigating alleged sexual assault allegations against Mr. Fletcher involving an adult. This portion of the investigation was completed on July 31, 2024 and Mr. Fletcher was arrested again. He was charged with one count of felony crime against nature, and one count of felony second degree forcible sex offence.
On July 31, 2024, Mr. Fletcher was taken into custody by the Major Crimes Unit in Mount Holly. He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and booked into the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
