STANLEY, N.C.—Agnes McCaslin Cline passed away peacefully on the morning of February 15, 2026.  She had just turned 89 years old. 

She was the daughter of the late Arthur Louis McCaslin and Margaret Weaver McCaslin and a devoted wife to Baxter Truett Cline and a loving mother to her son Mitch.  She was a very active member of the Boger City Baptist Church and served many years teaching the 3-year-olds with her contagious laugh and joyful spirit.  Agnes worked for many years and retired from the Lincoln County Mental Health Department where she worked as a receptionist and greeted people with her warm and loving smile.  She loved spending time with her family and her many close friends and was a selfless, faithful woman.  Agnes knew and loved everyone she ever met.  She cherished spending time at the beach house in Windy Hill which was one of her favorite places.  She was a graduate of Lincolnton High School Class of 1955.  She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College two years later.

She was preceded in death by her husband Truett Cline and parents Louis and Margaret McCaslin and her beloved sisters JoAnne Potts and Evelyn Cochrane. 

She is survived by her son Mitchell Truett Cline and daughter-in-law Cindy Cline and her granddaughters Jessie Smith and Maggie Limone (Matt) and her great-grandchildren Henry, Jonah, Junie, Aggie and Truett as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Boger City Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to the service.
