Alberta Briggs Gibson
June 29, 1952 – October 17, 2024
HICKORY, N.C. - Alberta Briggs Gibson, 72, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.
She was born June 29, 1952 in Lucas County, Iowa to the late Harold and Mary Lucille Wiechart Briggs. Alberta was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and retired as a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed going shopping and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years William Gibson of Claremont; sons James Gibson and wife Laura of Claremont, Michael Shane Gibson of Claremont; brothers Jerald Briggs, Roy Briggs, Dean Briggs; sisters Willie, Arlene, Janice; grandchildren Kaila Gibson, Chasity Gibson, Tyler Gibson, and Gabriel Gibson; great-grandchildren Isabella Danielle Hughes, Willow Hughes, Wyatt Stinson, and Liam Stinson.
A memorial service to celebrate Alberta’s life will be held at a later date.
