CONOVER, N.C. - Alice Sigmon Spencer, 86, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Carolina Caring Hospice House in Newton.

She was born April 9, 1938 in Catawba County to the late Russell and Floy Poovey Sigmon. Alice was a member of First Methodist Church of Conover and retired from the furniture industry. She enjoyed cooking and feeding her family, and loved tending to her plants and flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Spencer; brothers, Glenn Sigmon, Joe Dale Sigmon, and Jim Sigmon; and daughter, Bobbi Spencer Hamby.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Michael R. Spencer and wife Anne of Conover; grandchildren Lauren Spencer (Jason), Samantha Spencer (Preston), and Garrison Hamby (Bailey); great-grandchildren Zander Spencer, Roxxi Slaughter, and Saiylor Spencer-Wooten; best friend and cousin Connie Sigmon.

A service to celebrate Alice’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Conover. Rev. John Woods will officiate. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at First Methodist Church.
