Andy Ray Williamson
October 3, 1954 - February 27, 2026
LINCOLNTON, N.C.— Andy Ray Williamson, age 71, of Hill Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, a Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Jones and Chad Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 2 p.m. with the service to follow.
Andy was born in Hayesville, N.C. to Elmer Rich Williamson and Rose Doyle Williamson. He was one of seven siblings. Andy retired from Freightliner Corp. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Lincolnton for almost 46 years. Andy ran the bus and van ministry for many of those years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law William H. Rose, whom he called “Pops”, his grandmother Beatrice Doyle, grandparents-in-law Cloyd and Claudine Lynch, and Laura Alice Rose, brothers Tommy and Elmer (Jr.) Williamson, sister Gloria Rogers, niece Diane Smith, and nephew Scottie Goforth.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Susan Rose Williamson; children, Angela Johnson (Chad), Amanda Clemmer (Steven), and Matthew Williamson (Lauren). In addition, three beautiful grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Noah Clemmer, Bella Johnson, and Emma Johnson.
He is survived by three sisters, Elsie Hardwick (Tom), Viola Smith, and Lucy Williamson; sister-in-law, Sharon Vazquez (Alex); and brother-in-law, Billy Rose (Angie). He is also survived by his mother-in-law Joan Rose (William) who was also his mother for over 40 years. He is survived by eight nephews and seven nieces. Also, his brothers in heart, Bill Lynch (Nancy) and Keith Stone (Lois).
Memorials may be made to Breakthrough T1D (type 1 diabetes research and advocacy), or Grace Baptist Church.
