LINCOLNTON––It’s the apple of Lincoln County’s eye.

It’s the Lincoln County Apple Festival, and the big, annual event––a celebration of our county’s long generations of apple-growing heritage––is now in its 52nd year. And according to festival director Nikki Gray, this year’s version of the Apple Festival will be bigger and better than ever. It’s coming up on Saturday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Gray told The Herald more. She said that more than 270 vendors would be attending this year. And there will be more than 50 food vendors, including food trucks, non-profit groups and more. Members of Underground Carolina Wrestling will be in the Warren Citizens Center parking lot, putting on a show throughout the day. The Helms Christmas Tree Farm will have train rides for kids in the “kids’ orchard” section.

“We will have several games and activities for the kids in the ‘kids’ orchard,’” said Gray. “We will have two stages of live music and dancers. Our law-enforcement personnel will have multiple displays of their equipment between Government Street and High Street.”

She continued that shuttle parking would be available at Lincolnton High School. The drop-off zone is at First Federal Park.

“We will also have shuttle parking at First Baptist Church,” Gray added. “The drop-off will be at Gaston College. There will also be parking throughout town.”

No dogs are allowed at the festival.

There will be a directory of vendors selling apple-related products, including both food and non-food items. And there’s a map, currently in the production phase, that will be a helpful guide for festival-goers.
