VALE, N.C. - Brentley “Brent” Eugene Rudisill, 78, of Vale, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at his residence.

He was born October 6, 1946 in Cleveland County to the late Starrs Brantley Rudisill and Maria Alimandi Rudisill. Brent was a United States Army Veteran and grew up in the Catholic faith at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He and his first wife, Sandy, joined St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he was an active member and served as a marriage counselor with Sandy. Later in life, Brent and his second wife, Peggy, joined First Methodist Church in Conover. He loved going to this church and attending Bible study with his church family and special friends.

Brent owned his own moving business, worked at GE, and then worked in sales and delivery for Alsco (previously National Linen), where he retired in 2006. His 18 years of retirement was one of his favorite chapters of life, filling his time with family beach trips, golfing, and making memories with his grandchildren. In his youth, Brent looked forward to playing football, basketball, and baseball. As he got older, Brent enjoyed coaching his children and watching and supporting his grandchildren in their sports and various activities. Above all, he loved his family and his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Rhoney Rudisill; and brother-in-law, Larry Dransfield.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of nine years Peggy Smith Rudisill of the home; sons Ryan Rudisill and wife Holly of Newton, Jeff Rudisill and wife Robin of Newton; daughter Ashley Benfield and husband Joshua of Vale; sister Joan Dransfield of Madison, Ala.; grandchildren Hunter Rudisill, Kacyn Benfield, and Lauren Patterson.

A memorial service with military honors to celebrate Brent’s life was held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Conover. Rev. John Woods officiated. Burial followed in the church columbarium. The family received friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at First Methodist Church.
