LINCOLNTON, N.C. - The Carolina River Rats 8U is an elite youth travel baseball team based out of Lincolnton. This past weekend they won the 2024 Top Gun SouthEastern Summer World Series Championship!

Carolina River Rats 8U took Sunday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 13-12 walk-off victory. The game was tied at 12 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Calem Hudson singled, scoring the World Series winning run.

The winning athletes consisted of: Gibson Bedgood, Jackson Burke, Colt Dellinger, Calem Hudson, Lucas Lambert, Nash Reynolds, Noah Roberts, Jase Smith, Ryder Taylor, Easton Walker and Lawson Wright.

Coach Burke States, “I am so proud of these athletes. They love the game of baseball and put in a lot of work to compete at such a high level consistently.”

The River Rats are currently ranked #3 in North Carolina according to ncrankings.com. The River Rats are led by Head Coach, Bradley Burke of Maiden and assistants, Phillip Wright of Iron Station and Van Lambert of Mt. Pleasant. Josh Roberts of Lincolnton served as the Coach Pitcher.
