Charles Michael Swanson
Charles Michael Swanson, 64, of Newton died Friday, February 21, 2025 at Home. Born February 17th, 1961 he was the son of the late Charles Ray Swanson and Itsuko Omura Swanson. He graduated Newton Conover High School in 1979 and attended UNC- Wilmington. Mike worked at Siecor Corning for numerous years and Clark Tire in Hickory as an Certified Master Bicycle Mechanic. He was an avid Banjo player, loved Bluegrass and Reggae music. Mike enjoyed Mountain Biking and the close friends he made through that passion and the friends he made through the bike shop.
Mike is survived by brother, Bill Carroll; two sisters, Rita S. Goble and Judy Carroll Gill; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved 17 year old cat, Zookie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association or any charity of your choice.
