Antioch Baptist Fall Yard Sale/Fundraiser, September 13-14 and 20-21: A Fall Yard Sale/Fundraiser will be hosted by the Nourishing Hands Food Pantry of Antioch Baptist Church, 3413 E. Hwy. 150, Lincolnton, NC 28092 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on September 13-14 and 20-21. Baked goods will be sold daily. Hot dogs will only be sold on Saturdays. The event will be held rain or shine.
Bethel Baptist Scouts Meatloaf Fundraiser, September 13-14: On Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14 from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Troop 72 and Pack 72 of Bethel Baptist Church will host a Meatloaf Fundraiser. Plates are $12 and it includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, roll, and a dessert. Free delivery is available for large orders. Funds raised will help pay for registrations for the upcoming year. McKendree Methodist Breakfast, Saturday, September 14: A Full Country Breakfast with breakfast meats, eggs, grits, hashbrowns, juice, homemade biscuits and coffee will be held on Saturday, September 14 from 7 to 10 a.m. at McKendree Methodist Church, 3537 Maiden Hwy., Lincolnton, NC 28092. Requested donation of $7 per person with both dine-in and take-out available.
CANCELLED - Crouse UMC Free Community Breakfast, Saturday, September 14: We will not be able to serve our Community Breakfast this coming Saturday, September 14. We look forward to seeing everyone on October 12!!!
Lowesville Gospel Concerts/Vineyard Church, The Wilmington Celebration Choir, Saturday, September 14: Vineyard Church (formerly Living Word Ministries), 1062 South Hwy 16, Stanley (Lowesville), NC presents The Wilmington Celebration Choir on Saturday, September 14 at 5 p.m. All our concerts are No Admission Cost, a freewill offering only will be received, and you are invited. We have concerts every 2nd and 4th Saturday. The church is located 1.8 miles south of the intersection of Highways 73 and 16 Business. Denver UMC – Junior Fire Fighters Fundraiser, Saturday, September 14: The Denver Junior Fire Fighters will be having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to support their program. The event will be held at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 North Highway 16 Denver, NC 28037 (adjacent to Denver Fire Department Headquarters) on Saturday, September 14 from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $10 per plate and will include spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Eat-in or Drive-thru service will be available behind the church. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. All proceeds go to the junior program.
POSTPONED - Crouse UMC Homecoming, September 15: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Homecoming at Crouse United Methodist Church will be postponed. We will announce a new date at a later time and look forward to worshipping with you soon!
Daniels Lutheran Fellowship Sunday, September 15: Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092 will celebrate its 250th Anniversary on Sunday, September 15. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. with worship to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Bishop Tim Smith preaching the sermon. All former pastors, interim pastors, former members, and friends of the congregation are invited.
First Assembly Church, Carole King Tribute Concert, Friday, September 20: Singer Katie Pinder Brown will perform as Carole King in her tribute concert, Natural Woman, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. at First Assembly Church, 777 S. Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, NC. Brown’s concert will kick off the Gaston Concert Association’s soon-starting 2024-25 season. Natural Woman is the premier tribute to King, the legendary singer/songwriter. Tickets are $30 each. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show follows half an hour later. Blazin’ Trails Cowboy Church, Brooke’s Roundup, Saturday, September 21: A FREE and FUN event for adults and children with Special Needs and their families from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be hayrides, games, food, music, a mechanical bull, horse rides and more. Boger City UMC - Lincolnton Lions Club Blood Drive, Saturday, September 21: Lincolnton Lions Club will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Boger City United Methodist Church, 2320 East Main St., Lincolnton, NC 28092 on Saturday, September 21. Refreshments and an E-gift card provided.
First Presbyterian Church Cherryville - Carolina Freight Reunion, Saturday, September 21: The 14th annual Carolina Freight Carriers Reunion will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 107 West Academy St., Cherryville, NC 28021. The admission charge is $20 and includes a lunch buffet. The deadline to reserve is September 16 at noon. Mail reservations to C. Grier Beam Truck Museum, PO Box 238, Cherryville, NC 28021. (Before the reunion a Welcome Reception will be held at the Museum from 9-10:30 a.m. Coffee and refreshments will be served.)
