Crystal “Crissy” Welch Scronce

VALE, N.C. — Crystal “Crissy” Welch Scronce, age 56, of Wyant Road in Vale, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Crissy was born November 27, 1969, in Gaston County, North Carolina, daughter of Steve Eugene Welch, Sr. and Doris Treadaway Welch.
Crissy was a beloved wife to Michael Scronce and a proud mother to two sons, Logan Scronce (Hannah) and Luke Scronce (Bailey). Her family was the center of her world, and she was deeply loved by her siblings, including her brothers, Steve Welch, Jr. (Jane) and Kelly Welch (Nancy), as well as her twin sister, Penny Vowell (Troy). Crissy also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
In her professional life, Crissy worked as the office manager at Dorco Manufacturing in Gastonia, the YMCA of Lincolnton, and the Lincoln County School System. She was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and caring nature.
Crissy’s passion for giving back to the community was evident in her countless hours of volunteering. She generously gave her time to local schools, food pantries, Christian ministries, church activities, scouts, and various organizations in the community. Her love for helping others and her commitment to making a difference in her community were qualities that touched the lives of many.
A service to celebrate Crissy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Crowell Memorial Church in Lincolnton, with Pastor Butch Ross and Eric Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Warlick Funeral Home.
