VALE, N.C. - Dale Reid Devine, age 77, of Vale passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Carolina Caring, in Newton, North Carolina.

A Lincoln County native, Dale was born on June 16, 1947 and was the son of the late Lewis Reid and Madge Shrum Devine. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by brother-in-law Tim Abernathy.

Dale was a licensed electrician who worked in plant operations at the Lincoln Medical Center for over 30 years. A family man, he was very active in both his church and community. He volunteered in numerous capacities including: over 30 years as a volunteer fireman at Union Volunteer Fire Department and served as a member of their Board of Directors; delivered food for Lincoln County Christian Ministries; sang in the Golden Voices Choir; and planned, coordinated, and guided trips for the Hulls Grove Baptist Church Joy Club. Dale still made time to support his grandchildren by attending their activities. He also was a talented craftsman spending countless hours in his shop hand-making beautiful furniture, pens, and spinning tops.

Dale is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years Judy Hill Devine; one daughter, Amy Zemore and her husband Dave; one son, Jason Devine and his wife Shannon; three granddaughters Lizzy and Zoey Zemore and Halle-Grace Devine; one grandson, Daniel Devine; two sisters, Judy Lowder and her husband Don, and Nancy Abernathy; one brother, Ned Devine and his wife Debbie; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dale will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 2 P.M., at Hulls Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Travis Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
