CONOVER, N.C. - David Allen Crabtree, 58, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at his residence.

He was born January 17, 1966 in Durham County to the late George Bowman and to Alice Faye Norton Bowman of Claremont. David was a 1984 graduate of Bunker Hill High School. He worked in the furniture industry as an upholsterer and was an umpire for 28+ years.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Helen Wynne.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of one year Ashley Price Crabtree of the home; son Bradley Crabtree and wife Emily of Hickory; daughters Katie Reep and husband Nic of Hickory, Amber Hidalgo and husband Jaciel of Canton, Paiton Tellado and husband Tyler of Maiden; mother Alice Faye Bowman of Claremont; brothers Gene Crabtree of Claremont, Michael Crabtree of Kernersville, W.Va., Steven Bowman of Claremont, Rickey Bowman of Claremont; grandchildren Jocelyn Crabtree, Sutton Crabtree, Remington Crabtree, Marilyn Reep, Anson Reep, Fletcher Reep, Fallon Reep, Eli Hidalgo, Eliana Hidalgo, Anayansi Hidalgo, Ashlin Tellado, Brantley Tellado, and Oakley Tellado; and fur babies Buc and Dodger,

A service to celebrate David’s life was held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church in Conover. Rev. Joel Frye officiated. The family received friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Oxford Baptist Church. Those serving as pallbearers were Nic Reep, Brad Crabtree, Scott Richards, Jeff Gore, Bobby Williams, and Tyler Tellado. Gilbert Crowder, Jaciel Manilla, and Randy Dover served as honorary pallbearers.
