LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Donald Alexander Heavner, age 93 of Guy Heavner Road in Lincolnton, passed from his earthly home to his Home above on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas Beers officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Donald was born on February 1, 1933, to Guy Earl and Ella Leonard Heavner.  He spent his entire life on the family farm in the Howards Creek area, a place he loved and proudly called home. Donald Graduated from Union High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.

Donald was a charter member of the HCVFD and a devoted, lifelong member of Bethphage Lutheran Church.  There, he faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendent and as a member of the church council.  His faith and his church family were very important to him.  He was also a proud member of the WOW and VFW.

He dedicated 40 years of hard work to a Ford dealership and was known for always driving a Ford.  Donald found joy in the simple things in life – watching NASCAR, enjoying a good tomato sandwich, and never passing up Hardee’s sausage and gravy biscuits.

On March 31, 1956, he married Mallie Eurey.  Together they built a life full of love, partnership, and adventure.  They were just nine days shy of celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary.  Donald and Mallie shared a passion for travel, visiting all 50 states, England, and Nova Scotia.  One of their most memorable journeys was driving from Prince Edward Island across Canada to Victoria Island.  They also enjoyed cruises to Freeport and Nassau, creating many cherished memories along the way.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Terry Wayne Heavner; his brother, Lewis Heavner and wife, Clarabel; his sister, Betty Sue Allen; his niece, Patricia Allen Rhyne; and his nephews, Matthew Ballard and Allen Poovey.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Mallie Eurey Heavner; his son, Keith Heavner and wife, Myra; his grandson, Luke Heavner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Donald will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep love for his family, and his unwavering devotion to the land he grew up on – a place he cherished and protected fiercely.  He lived a simple and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and love that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made to Bethphage Lutheran Church, 3440 Shoal Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
