MAIDEN, N.C. - Doretha Anne Lazenby Wilkinson, 84, of Maiden passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Carolina Caring in Newton.

She was born October 10, 1939 in Catawba County to the late James Reeves Lazenby and Dorothy Beard Lazenby. Anne was a longtime member of Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden and retired from North Safety Products in Maiden. Along with her husband, Perry, she was owner and operator of Wilkinson Custom Meat Processing in Maiden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Perry L. Wilkinson; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Lazenby; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Beard.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Curtis Wilkinson and wife Pam of Newton, David Wilkinson and wife Lorraine of Maiden; sister Patricia L. Cherry and husband Jon of Maiden; grandchildren Melony Hipp and husband Brent, Daniel Wilkinson and wife Samantha; great-grandchildren Melora Hipp, Lila Hipp, Silas Wilkinson, and Walker Wilkinson; special caregiver and friend JoAnne Appling of Maiden.

A graveside service to celebrate Anne’s life was held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Lawing’s Chapel Baptist Church cemetery in Maiden. Rev. Jason Canipe officiated. The family received friends following the graveside service. Those serving as honorary pallbearers were Daniel Wilkinson, Brent Hipp, Silas Lee Wilkinson and Walker Webb Wilkinson.
