LOWESVILLE––The Georgia-based Edgar Loudermilk Bluegrass Band will perform a free concert Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
Loudermilk is an award-winning gospel musician and a veteran of more than 20 years on the gospel circuit. He has been recognized as the “bass fiddle performer of the year,” and he’s known for his signature voice, bass skills and songwriting abilities that have earned him more than 40 industry awards and nominations.
“I see songwriting as being as much of a calling as singing,” Loudermilk recently said. “Songwriting is a big part of it for me. Playing and singing are great fun and a good time, and we love the audiences. But the art of crafting words and music into a song is very rewarding.”
The band also features Zack Autry, Anthony Howell and Jake Goforth. They respectively handle the musical chores on the mandolin, banjo and guitar.
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 Business in Lowesville, just outside of Denver.
