SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - Eduardo Efrain Alfaro, 82, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his residence.

He was born October 23, 1941 in Lima, Peru to the late Eduardo Tomas Alfaro and Crispina Olivares Alfaro. Eduardo was the pastor of First Baptist Church Libre Albedrio. He retired from the Peruvian Air Force and was a Salvation Army pastor and Baptist pastor for 24 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Edith Carranza.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years Carolina Urteaga Alfaro of the home; sons Eduardo J. Alfaro of Sacramento, Calif., Rosmy F. Alfaro and wife Carolina of Alameda, Calif., Anthony Alfaro and wife Flora of Sherrills Ford; daughters Jackelin C. Hutchinson of Ripon, Calif., Tracy K. Huynh and husband Johnny of Denver; sisters Nelly Rodriguez and husband Alfonso of Lima, Peru, Vilma Pasquel and husband Jorge of Lima, Peru, Carmen Moreano and husband Hugo of Lima, Peru, Doris Montoro and husband Arturo of Lima, Peru, Gladys Donayre and Husband Pable of Lima, Peru, Sonia Alfaro of Lima Peru; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and the Alfaro and Urteaga families.

A memorial service to celebrate Eduardo’s life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Pastor Rosmy Alfaro will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11:45 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
