TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. - Elizabeth Susan Day, 75, of Taylorsville died Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her residence.

Born Thursday, May 26, 1949 she was the daughter of the late George Herbert Corpening and Mary Lefevers. Elizabeth loved to travel and to visit flea-markets, but hated the beach. She will be greatly missed.

Her daughter, Brenda Ackerman (Joe); sister, Pamela Hayworth (Michael); brother, Andy Corpening (Debra); sister-in-law, Linda Ervin; grandchildren, Heather Robinson, Jennifer Jackson, Cameron Massagee, Alison Bryant, Bobby Hayes, Brent Ballou, Timmy Metcalf (Ashley), Alicia Metcalf, Gary Metcalf (Ricky), Nathaniel Poteat, Taylor Pell, Colby Ackerman and Branson Ackerman; 13 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces survive her.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Ronald Day; mother-in-law, Faye Phillips; three sons, David Massagee and wife Lisa, Mark Massagee and Robert Lee Poteat Jr.; and daughter, Carolyn Poteat preceded her in death.

Her memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024 at Millersville Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Orren officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. at the church.
