Ellen Anita Lail Brittain
October 22, 1928 – September 3, 2024
VALE, N.C. - Ellen Anita Lail Brittain, 95, of Vale, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at her residence.
She was born October 22, 1928 in Catawba County to the late Dexter Lee Lail and Ailene Harris Lail Combs. Ellen enjoyed praying, reading her Bible, studying the Word, listening to preaching, and gospel music. She loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kay Mitchem; brother, Harold Lail; sister, Barbara Lail; and son-in-law, Dale Frisbee.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter Linda Frisbee of Vale; sister Clara Eckard of Taylorsville; sister-in-law Dot Lutz of Vale; grandchildren Sandy Geouge (Jason), Jamie Price (Jerry), and Marty Frisbee (Emily); great-grandchildren Morgan Geouge, Thomas Geouge, Natalie Geouge, Brandy Varner (Zachary), Owen Frisbee, and Josie Frisbee; great-great-grandson Bodie Varner; and special family friend Wanda Geouge.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bill Jack Parker for providing such excellent care of Ellen.
A service to celebrate Ellen’s life was held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12 noon in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. James Cooke officiated. Burial followed at Sardis Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hickory. The family received friends prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
Those serving as pallbearers were Jason Geouge, Thomas Geouge, Zachary Varner, Roger Lutz, Jesse Coffey, Steve Lail, and Keith Lail.
