Eric Jason Ellis
Eric Jason Ellis, 49, of Claremont, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
He was born June 9, 1975 in Catawba County to the late Charles Rickey “Rick” Ellis and to Deborah Cline Ellis of Catawba. Eric was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newton and was employed as a high school math teacher. He enjoyed watching the Steelers and Tar Heels play and coaching his students. Eric looked forward to spending time with his family and friends, and watching his daughter play basketball.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Pearleen Ellis; maternal grandparents, Nesbie and Carolyn Cline; and aunt, Pamela Cline Moser.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Eric’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Newton.
