Frances Mae Abernethy McConnell
November 27, 1942 - July 23, 2025
VALE, N.C. -Frances Mae Abernethy McConnell, age 82, of Reepsville Road in Vale, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Mrs. McConnell was born November 27, 1942, in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Henry and Beulah Morris Abernethy.
Mrs. McConnell is survived by her husband, Ronald McConnell of the home; sons, Charles Ray Costner, III, (Virginia) of Lincolnton, Kevin Lane Costner (Heather) of Clymer, N.Y., and John Mark McConnell (Shelley) of Vale; grandchildren, Caleb Costner, Joshua Costner, Mason McConnell, Cade McConnell, Charles Costner, IV, and Johnathan Costner; and great-grandson, Atlas Costner.
A funeral service for Mrs. McConnell will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Messiah United Methodist Church in Lincolnton with the Reverend Kevin Costner and the Reverend Stan Nantz officiating.
Interment will follow in Russel’s Chapel Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday at the church prior to the service.
