GCPD Seeks Help In Trailer Theft Case

Incident occurred Sept. 7 in Riverbend rural area

RIVERBEND––The Gaston County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in connection with a vehicular theft.

According to a Wednesday statement, on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 12:53 a.m., Mountain Island Charter School security-camera footage revealed someone driving a suspect vehicle––a late-model Dodge “Ram 1500” crew-cab truck, possibly black in color. This person or persons stole a utility-dump trailer from the stadium area at the high school, which is located at 13440 Lucia-Riverbend Hwy. in Mount Holly (actually the rural and unincorporated Riverbend area, which straddles Lincoln and Gaston counties).

The trailer stolen from the school is a black 2021 Hawke, with dump capability. The North Carolina registration plate on the trailer is “VW63642.”
