MOUNT HOLLY––The Gaston County Police Department is seeking the public’s help.
According to a Thursday statement by the GCPD, it concerns an Oct. 9 case of armed robbery and truck theft in Mount Holly, and the department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two Hispanic men who are suspects. That Wednesday evening at about 7 p.m., GCPD personnel responded to 1000 W. Catawba Ave. in Mount Holly, the address of la Tiendita Tienda Latina (Spanish for “the Little Shop Latin Store”), in connection with an armed robbery. Security camera footage captured two Hispanic males entering the store and robbing the owners of cash, physical checks and cell phones. After the robbery inside the store, the two males exited, forced a patron out of his white 2004 Nissan “Titan” pick-up truck and drove away.
The first man is described as an Hispanic in his late 30’s or early 40’s. He appears to have a tattoo on the inside of his left hand and another across his left knuckles. Witnesses also reported observing a tattoo on the left side of his neck, possibly a word beginning with the letters “M” and “I.”
The second Hispanic man is possibly in his 20’s. He has a short ponytail and a mustache.
The suspects arrived on foot and were captured on camera, recorded walking from the area of Old Hickory Grove Road toward the intersection of Catawba Avenue.
