James Arthur Kendrick
James Arthur Kendrick, Sr. 80 of Hickory passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born November 1st, 1944 he was the son of Offie Kendrick and Goldie Kendrick. James was an Army Veteran who loved to hunt, fish and most of all his family.
James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Pearl Kendrick; five children, Morris Robert "Bobby" Kendrick and wife Ginger of Taylorsville, James Arthur "Jimmy" Kendrick Jr of Hickory, Lisa Kahill and husband Todd of Newton, Linda Carroll and husband Jimmy Carroll Jr. of Claremont, Paula Hurst of Stoney Point; three brothers, Fred Wayne Kendrick of Anchorage, AK, Giles Kendrick of Richmond, VA, Thomas Kendrick of Clintwood, VA, Richard Smith Kendrick of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Donna Kendrick of Abbeville, LA; ten grandchildren, Shane Kendrick, Natasha Kendrick, Morgan Laastad, James A. Kendrick III, Brandon Kahill, Chelsea Goins, Jimmy Carroll III, Kasie Hughes, and Zackary Kendrick; and twelve great grandchilren and one on the way.
Parents, Offie and Goldie Kendrick; seven siblings, John Paul Kendrick, Richard Smith "Dickie" Kendrick, Audrey Kendrick, Elizabeth Grisby, Jill Kendrick Hamilton, Cheri Kendrick and Jerry Wayne Kendrick preceded him in death.
A private Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Carolina Caring.
The Kendrick family has entrusted arrangements to Jenkins Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Newton 828-464-1555.
