Janice Regina Payne Huber
Janice Regina Payne Huber, 76, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Carolina Caring in Newton.
She was born April 11, 1948 in Catawba County to the late Eldon Payne and Vashti Lockee Payne Beard. Regina was of the Christian faith and retired from the financial industry. She enjoyed working puzzles, watching movies, reading, and she loved her family and pets dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 5 years, Robin F. Gatwood Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are;
Son: Rob Gatwood and wife Linda of Claremont
Grandchildren: Alyson Gatwood of Jefferson City, MO; , Austin Starnes (Melissa) of Catawba; and Drew Starnes (Kourtney) of Madisonville, TN
Great-Grandchildren: Ella Starnes, Paislee Zine, Aiden Starnes, and Harper Starnes
Feline Companion: Squeakers
A memorial service to celebrate Regina’s life will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Conover. Rev. Bob Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
