Joan McLaughlin Davis
Joan McLaughlin Davis, age 92, of Lincolnton, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1932, in New Castle County, Delaware to the late Edward “Puggy” and Anna Muldoon McLaughlin.
Joan was the life of the party. She loved having a good time, and enjoyed partying and dancing, especially line dancing. Joan liked card games, coffee, and wine. She was a member of St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time at the Huntersville Senior Center. Joan was proud to be 100% Irish and loved anything Ireland related. She and her husband, James, traveled the world together, including a trip to Ireland. Joan adored her grandbabies and great grandbabies and cherished every moment with them.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James Welford Davis; son-in-law, Bruce Beebe; and all of her siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Beebe, and Patricia “Trish” Lail (Cramer); grandchildren, Jennifer Stowe (Jimmy), Courtney Beebe, Carol Payne (Jeremy), Michelle Sherlin (Steven), Christopher Lail, and Sarah Sigmon (Jason); great grandchildren, Challen Stowe, Leo Stowe, Madilyn Stowe, Makayla Stamey (Trista), William Ellis, Zoey Conner, James Sherlin, Gabriel Sherlin, Hunter Sigmon, Jacob Sigmon, and Dakota Sigmon; and great-great grandchild, Taytum Price.
Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 20, 2025, at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Carlson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM, prior to the service at the church.
A Private Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, where Joan will be laid to rest next to her husband, James.
