NEWTON, N.C. - Judith Rudisill Bolick, 83, of Newton, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Terra Bella.

She was born March 1, 1941 in Lincoln County to the late John Rudisill and Eula Proctor Rudisill. Judy was an alumnus of Lees-McRae College. Professionally, she served as the personal assistant to the late Mr. Adrian Shuford. Judy was a painter, potter and a fierce card player.  She loved animals, gardening and the North Carolina mountains.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Max Bolick.

Those left to cherish her memory are her nephews William Rodney Abernethy and wife Theresa of Cherryville; Howard Randall “Randy” Abernethy and wife Sarah of Newton, John Robert “Robbie” Abernethy and wife Betty Jo of Maiden; great-nieces and nephews Mandy Abernethy Rembert (Fore), Allyson Abernethy Howard (Will), Amber Abernethy Leinwand (Brian), Aaron Abernethy, Taylor Abernethy Chandler and Dylan Abernethy; and seven great-great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their profuse appreciation to Carolina Caring, Terra Bella of Newton, Geraldine’s Care and Abernethy Laurels for the love and care shown to Max and Judy during their illnesses.

A private graveside service with military honors to celebrate Max and Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
