Mrs. Katherine Dellinger Helton, 100 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

She was born on July 23, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Junius T. Dellinger and Vertie Sigmon Dellinger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Helton, daughters Peggy Lee of Seneca, South Carolina, Becky York of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandson Robby York; and 11 siblings.

Katherine graduated from Rock Springs school in 1943. She was a faithful member of Hills Chapel UMC and Living Word Ministries. She was a chairman of the Women’s Circle and leader of the youth UMYF.

Katherine was mainly a stay-at-home mom. After the girls got older, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants, but mainly at Jones Fish Camp.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Pease (Stacy) of Lowesville, North Carolina, Sheila Wyke (Eddie) of Lucia, North Carolina; five grandchildren Chris Pease, Matthew York, Jamie Fargason, Dan Wyke, and Rebecca Williams; and eight great-grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at Denver Baptist Church at 3 p.m. on October 10, 2024. The family will receive friends afterwards with poundcake and coffee being served.

There will be a private graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Hills Chapel cemetery with family and close friends.
