CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Kathleen "Kat" Fisher Van Dyke, 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.

Mrs. Van Dyke was born in Gaston County on April 4, 1934 a daughter of the late William Wesley Fisher and Eva Mae Cochrane Fisher. She was retired as manager from Winn-Dixie in Cherryville and later worked at Don's Handy Mart. Mrs. Van Dyke was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Clifton Van Dyke; two sisters, Faye Wacaster and Ruth Brooks; four brothers, Carl, Holland, Bob and J.W. Fisher.

Survivors include her daughter, Gina Van Dyke of Cherryville; one grandson Alex Van Dyke and wife Blair of Iron Station; a special niece, Linda Wacaster of Cherryville and also other numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at City Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will follow the service. Following the service the family will gather at Mrs. Van Dyke's home.
