Kaye Black Lovingood
Kaye Black Lovingood, was called home on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the age of 82, in her home surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure forever.
Born on July 26, 1942, to the late Bryte and J.A. Black, Kaye’s commitment to her family was unparalleled, mirrored only by her unwavering faith. Her marriage to Ken Lovingood, her devoted husband of 54 years, was a testament to her dedication and love. To say that Kaye cherished her family would be an understatement; for her, family was everything. Kaye’s love for her daughter, Shelly and her husband Chris Shope, was matched only by the pride she took in her grandchildren. Her legacy of love continues to live on through her cherished grandchildren, Xan Lovingood (Riley) and Hailey Shope, and her precious great-granddaughter, Gracynn.
Kaye’s siblings, Reeves Black (Pat), Ada Cabaniss (David), and Patti Carpenter (the late Rick Carpenter) remain to celebrate her life alongside those who were touched by her kindness and unwavering spirit. Though she was predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Myers and Doris Bullard, the bond they shared was lifelong, and their memory will forever be cherished. She also leaves behind multiple nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery per Kaye’s request.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kaye can be made to VIA Health Partners, PO Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247.
Warlick Funeral Home is serving the Lovingood family.
