Lincoln County Commissioners to Consider Public Safety Funding, Property Revaluation and Other Projects Oct.19
LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Public safety improvements, property tax revaluation and funding for senior and community services will be among the major topics when the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners meets Monday, October 19, at 10 a.m.
Several public safety projects are on the agenda, including acceptance of a $900,000 federal grant for law enforcement technology and equipment, the purchase of a new incident command bus, upgrades to the Lincoln County Jail security control system and approval to begin construction at the Sheriff's Office training facility.
Commissioners will also consider awarding the First Responders Memorial Project.
Another item of interest to property owners is the proposed adoption of the Schedule of Values and Present Use rates for the 2027 countywide property revaluation, which will help establish how properties are assessed for tax purposes.
The board will also consider approval of an $861,493 Home and Community Care Block Grant for fiscal year 2027, supporting services for older adults and other eligible residents.
Other business includes decisions on zoning and land-use requests, increased rental fees for airport hangars, and approval of Gaston College's annual budget resolution.
The meeting will be held at the Lincoln County Administration Building, 353 N. Generals Blvd. in Lincolnton. A public comment period is included on the agenda.
