LINCOLNTON, N.C. - The Lincoln Cultural Center is now accepting applications for the North Carolina Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through November 22, 2024 by 12 midnight. The LCC now serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s partner in awarding subgrants to local organizations for art programs in Lincoln County.

Since 1977, the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. Using a per capita based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the state through partnerships with local arts councils.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Lincoln County. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals), arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Grassroots funds are not generally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the N.C. Arts Council’s State Arts Resources. Projects must occur between July 1, 2024 - June 15, 2025.

Application forms and grant guidelines will be available on the LCC website beginning October 28, may be picked up at the LCC office Tuesday-Friday between 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday and will also mail applications and guidelines upon request. Applications MUST be received no later than 12 midnight November 22, 2024.

The LCC will also be hosting a Grassroots Arts Programs Grant Workshop with the North Carolina Arts Council to assist applicants in preparing competitive grants on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln Cultural Center. ALL applicants must attend this workshop or send a representative from their organization to be considered for a grant.

Grant applications will be evaluated by a diverse panel of community members and voted on by the LCC Board of Directors Grant Committee. Awards will be announced by December 9, 2024.
