NEWTON, N.C. - Mary Josephine Greeson/Gilbert Bartlett, 74, of Newton passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Carolina Caring in Newton.

She was born March 14, 1950 in West Chester, Pa. to the late Walter Bradshaw and Ilene Goss Greeson. Mary was of the United Methodist faith and was a supervisor in the furniture industry. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as department president of NC from 2022-2023 and was an avid supporter of R.A.M.P. of Maiden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, Johnny Bartlett; brothers, Ray Greeson Jr., Blair Dwight Greeson and Mike Bradshaw; and sisters, Donna Siebert, Debra Shook and Patricia Darlene Snipes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Ward Gilbert Jr. and wife Carolyn of Lincolnton, Eric Gilbert and wife Cassie of Maiden; daughters Tina Beal and husband Mitch of Lincolnton, Dawn Rikard and husband Collin of Maiden; brothers Derwin Greeson of Lincolnton, Randy Bradshaw and wife Donna of Richmond, Va., Mark Bradshaw of N.Y.; sisters Daisy Kelley and husband John of Lincolnton, Betty Hubbard of Lincolnton, Linda Costner and husband Steve of Conover, Patti Bass and husband Rick of Concord, Regina Crump of Hickory; 13 grandchildren;  and four great-grandchildren.  

A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Living Waters Church in Maiden. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Living Waters Church.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to American Legion Auxiliary of NC, P.O. Box 46315, Raleigh, NC 27620.
